African Artist.
Born in Uganda John Mubiru started painting at an early age, exhibiting his work at age 15 with other artist for the Women's Decade exhibition. The theme of the exhibition was around achievement African women had made to date after independence.
The women's decade exhibition was followed by "For Greater Horizon". Here Mubiru showcase his imaginative mind vearing away from main stram art of the time.
He migrated to USA in 1988.

I love this work. I bought a print of one of your paintings at the art show at Washington Square Park in NYC two years ago. I bought another one this past year. I put the first one in to be framed and it was lost! I'm broken-hearted, it was so incredibly beautiful that I'm haunted by the loss and find myself here on the web trying to find you! If there's any chance I could get the opportunity to buy that print again, I would be very grateful. It was in tones of blue and it was a woman in a cape ... similar to the very blue-toned picture you have on the web with two women. I would love to hear from you. Either way, you're work is wonderful and inspiring.
